Safe Patient Handling & Mobility

CPI Training - Level 2

This MANDATORY CPI Workplace Violence Prevention Training is for Level 2 Employees Only.  This includes employees from the following departments:

  • All providers, excluding Emergency Department and Medical Surgical/ICU Providers
  • Anesthesia
  • Cardiopulmonary Rehab
  • Care Management & Social Work
  • Diabetes Education
  • MH PC Family Medicine (PSR's Level 1)
  • MH PC Internal Medicine (PSR's Level 1)
  • MH Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • MH Orthopedics
  • MH Pediatrics
  • MH Surgical Care
  • Obstetrics
  • Oncology/IV Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Radiology
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • Specialty Care Clinic (PSR's Level 1)
  • Surgical Care Operating Room
  • Wound Care

The training will be a 5-hour class focusing verbal de-escalation and safety skills. The goal is to gain knowledge of verbal de-escalation skills and physical safety interventions to assist in managing individuals with aggressive behaviors.

Please work with your department leaders and schedulers to choose an appropriate date.  Be sure to wear comfortable, flexible clothing.

PALS Mega Code Skills Course

PLEASE NOTE:  All RQI BLS assignments in LMS MUST BE COMPLETED prior to taking the PALS Mega Code Skills Training.

The 2-hour megacode skills portion of the PALS certification is required after completing the online RQI PALS training. 

Each RQI PALS assignment contains an online cognitive training and a hands-on megacode skills training. The online training is assigned using the LMS platform.  The megacode skills assessments are held in-person in the Education Training Room.  Megacode skills are required every 2 years for PALS.

Preceptor Workshop

The Preceptor Workshop will be an interdisciplinary, interactive 4-hour class that focuses on the roles and responsibilities of being a preceptor. The class will include education on adult learning theory, ways to inspire your preceptees, tips and tricks on how to manage challenging preceptor-preceptee relationships, teaching tips and so much more! There will also be a guest panel at the end of the class consisting of experienced preceptors from throughout the hospital to learn from.

Any clinical team members looking to enhance their preceptor skills or become a preceptor in the future are welcome!
